Most FBM fulfillment pages read like they were written by someone who never packed a box. This one is written by someone who has.

I've been selling on Amazon for about ten years, and I co-run 365PrepCenter with Oleg, who runs the floor day to day. When we started offering FBM fulfillment alongside our prep work, the thing that surprised sellers most wasn't the pricing — it was how much of FBM fulfillment is just discipline around timing and inventory accuracy. There's no Amazon inbound plan to fall back on. If an order goes out wrong, it's on you, not a warehouse queue.

So this article isn't a sales pitch. It's what we actually do when an order lands in our queue, what it costs, and where sellers usually get tripped up switching from doing it themselves or from another 3PL.

How FBM Order Flow Actually Works at Our Warehouse

Orders come in through your Amazon Seller Central, Shopify, Walmart, TikTok Shop, eBay or Etsy account — the same floor, the same rates, regardless of channel — and we pull them on a schedule tied to our cutoff: 11:59 AM, Monday through Friday. Anything received before that cutoff ships same day. Anything after rolls to the next business day. This isn't a marketing number; it's how our pick-pack team structures the morning. Tatiana, who handles most of the physical pick-pack work, starts pulling orders around 9 AM so there's a buffer before cutoff for anything that needs a second look — mismatched SKU, damaged unit, low stock flag.

What the per-order rate covers: pick, pack into a 13×15" polymailer (or a box where the product needs one), carrier label, and handoff to USPS, UPS or FedEx the same day. Package weight limit is 25 lbs.

Pricing depends on your daily order volume, which matters more than most sellers expect:

10 or more orders per day — $2.00/order

Under 10 orders per day — $2.50/order

Each additional unit in the same order — +$0.30

Oversized or fragile orders — from $2.50, depending on what the packing actually takes

If you're doing 6 orders one day and 14 the next, we price on your actual daily average, not a strict per-order lookup — worth asking about directly if your volume swings seasonally.

One detail specific to Amazon FBM: for orders sold on Amazon, we buy labels through Amazon Buy Shipping. That keeps the shipment inside Amazon's own protection against A-to-Z claims and keeps your on-time delivery metrics clean. Orders from your other channels ship on standard carrier rates.

There's no setup fee and no long-term contract, which matters if you're testing a new sales channel and don't want to commit to a 12-month 3PL agreement before you know if the channel even works.

Where FBM Fulfillment Breaks Down (and Why It's Usually Not the 3PL's Fault)

Most fulfillment problems we see aren't packing errors. They're inventory sync issues. A seller's storefront says 40 units in stock, our floor count says 12, and nobody caught the gap until an order got backordered.

This is why every client gets their own login to Ysell.pro, the WMS platform we run the warehouse on — real-time inventory counts, cubic footage and storage cost visible 24/7, not a weekly email update. Ysell isn't our software; it's a platform built by Fulfillmentbox that we use and give our clients access to, and it's also where your FBA shipments get created when you're running both models. If you want the full walkthrough of setting it up, our Ysell login guide covers it step by step.

The second thing that trips sellers up is storage assumptions. The first 7 days after receiving are free — that's a landing window so inventory can be counted, measured and put away before the meter starts, not a monthly freebie. After that it's $1.00/cubic foot per month or $40/pallet per month, depending on how your goods are stored. Storage is always billed by volume, never by box count, and there are no volume discounts on it — the rate is the rate.

Receiving is separate and small: $0.10/unit if we're storing the goods for you, free if the shipment is going straight out to Amazon FBA without storage, or $25/pallet for palletized inbound. Pallets get received on the floor and measured before anything goes into rotation, so the cubic footage in Ysell reflects what's actually sitting there, not an estimate.

Returns are the other place FBM differs sharply from FBA. When a customer sends something back to your storefront's return address, we process it at $1.50/unit for small and standard items and $3.00/unit for oversized goods — inspecting condition, confirming it matches the original order, grading it New / Used / Garbage, and flagging what goes back into sellable inventory versus written off. Disposal is free for up to 10 units; beyond that it's $15 per box. If you're running FBM alongside FBA removals, it's worth reading how FBA removals processing works separately, since receiving and inspection are handled differently there.

One thing to know upfront: returns and removals processing come as part of our prep and fulfillment service. We don't take them on as a standalone contract for inventory we don't otherwise handle.

The Hybrid Setup Most Growing Sellers End Up With

Sellers rarely stay pure FBM or pure FBA. The setup that works best for most of the accounts we run: keep the bulk of your inventory with us, ship FBM from here, and send small replenishment batches into FBA — 100 to 200 units at a time. You cut Amazon's storage fees, you stop paying for slow-moving units sitting in their network, and you still have depth on the shelf so an FBA stockout doesn't put you out of stock on the listing. If you're testing a new SKU or a new season, this is usually the cheaper way to find out whether it moves.

What We Won't Do, and Why That Matters

We don't take large furniture, anything frozen or requiring refrigeration, or lithium batteries. Hazmat is case by case — ask before you ship it. This isn't a legal disclaimer buried in fine print; it's a real limit on our 1,200 sq ft climate-controlled space in Lebanon, Ohio. We'd rather tell a seller upfront that we're not the right fit than take on inventory we can't store or ship safely.

Everything else — food (ambient, shelf-stable), cosmetics, supplements, electronics, apparel, oversized palletized goods — we handle across Amazon FBA and FBM, Shopify, Walmart, TikTok Shop, eBay and Etsy from the same facility.

FAQ

How fast will my FBM orders actually ship? Same day, if the order is in our system before the 11:59 AM cutoff, Monday through Friday. Anything after that ships the next business day. This is a hard cutoff tied to our pick-pack schedule, not a rough target.

What does FBM fulfillment cost? $2.00 per order at 10 or more orders a day, $2.50 per order below that, plus $0.30 for each additional unit in the same order. Oversized and fragile orders start at $2.50. Full rates are on our pricing page.

How do I get set up with Ysell to track my inventory? Once you complete intake, you get your own login and personal ID at Ysell.pro, typically the same day. If it's been longer than 24 hours and you haven't received credentials, reach out directly — usually it's a step in intake that got missed, and we resolve it within 24–48 hours.

Do you charge extra for storage in the first week? No — the first 7 days after we receive a shipment are free. After that it's $1.00 per cubic foot per month, or $40 per pallet per month, based on how your inventory is stored. Storage is billed by volume, not by number of boxes.

What happens to returned items on FBM orders? Returns get inspected against the original order, graded New / Used / Garbage, and either restocked or flagged. $1.50/unit for small and standard items, $3.00/unit for oversized. Disposal is free up to 10 units, then $15 per box.

Is there a contract or setup fee to start? No setup fee and no long-term contract. A $50 minimum monthly charge applies once your account is active. You pay for the work we do.

Do you only work with Amazon sellers? No. FBM is the Amazon-specific term, but the same pick-pack operation runs Shopify, Walmart, TikTok Shop, eBay and Etsy orders at the same rates from the same building.

FBM fulfillment explained by an Ohio prep center operator: same-day cutoff, real pricing, order flow, storage and returns — and what to check before you switch 3PLs.

[5

post-347","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-fbm-fulfillment
["GET
